Earth Science at Birdhouse Ranch

All of this years August 2020 California fires were threats or continue to be threats to the Earth and its inhabitants. This fire was real Earth Science for us at Birdhouse Ranch. The Earth responds in a myriad of ways to human existence, these many fires being one way. 

 The 2020 SCU fire on Mines Road was a real threat to Birdhouse and Tal j Ranches. These 2 ranches together make a square with Mines road between and we are friends. 

Mines Road had many first responders Clayton Westrope from Tal j was one of them, a real hero.  Clayton helped Birdhouse in many ways, all of the things he did are big and really matter to our family.  Clayton checked and fed our animals after telling us they were all alive, even our chickens lived. 

He went to the top of Birdhouse, very close to the fire where our criollo cattle love to graze and chill with his backhoe to help Birdhouse and the Tal j stay safe from fire.  And to our relief he provided us with accurate information during the fire.

Thanks go out to Cal Fire, Clayton and all of the Mines Rd 1st responders, to Pele and the dome for helping to keep Birdhouse and Tal j Ranches and the wildlife safe.
